Weather should be on top

Greg C 3 years ago updated 2 years ago 2

Please move the Metars/Tafs back to the top of the airport pages.  Weather is typically the first thing pilots look at when considering an airport.  Not sure why its hidden at the bottom below many items that are not as important.  This creates a lot of frustration and scrolling when on a mobile device...

The Airport directory is not yet fully optimized for mobile devices but that is something that is being actively worked on. However, there is a navigation bar at the top of the airport details page that allows users to jump from section to section. So it is possible to jump directly to the METAR/TAF section with one click (no vertical scrolling). On very small screens, you may need to scroll the navigation menu to the left in order to see all the options but this will change once mobile optimization is completed.

For a better mobile experience, AOPA GO is the dedicated mobile app that allows the airport directory and weather information to be used on iOS and Android devices. This allows the entire airport directory to be downloaded to the device local storage so it can even be used without an internet connection. It also contains a Weather module with the same METAR/TAF information available in the airport directory as well as the weather charts and graphics that are available in the online AOPA Weather app. Since this is built as a true mobile app, the experience will be much better on mobile devices than a full web page.

Thanks for the response.  I know people will always complain and they resist change, however I question putting the weather last on the page flow.  Please reconsider putting items in order that are pertinent when flying.  First thing you look at is airport info, weather, FBO info, etc.  Put the instrument procedures towards the bottom, not at the top.  Anyway, just my $.02.
