how to modify the route witrh three letter way points

How do you add three letter idintifiers to the flight plan. My routes are long enough that even VORs are not shown. Need to be able to add VOR three letter and airport three letter to route when you can't see them on the chart to drag and drop.

There are a few different ways to manually add waypoints but the easiest is to use the left sidebar. If you have a route loaded, enter additional waypoints by typing the identifier into the "Idents" box in the Route section of the sidebar (see red arrow in screenshot below). Waypoints can be added one at a time or in multiples separated by a space. The flight planner will place each waypoint in the logical position regardless of the order they are entered. If the order is incorrect for some reason, you can manually drag and drop each waypoint in the Route section to place them in the desired order.


The Idents box can also be used to construct an entire route by entering all the idents including the departure and destination airports in one string. Just put a space between each identifier as show in this example:
