Helicopter Aircraft Type

Nolan B 1 year ago updated by Eric.Rush (Project Lead) 1 year ago 1

When adding an aircraft, the "Type Designator" field allows me to enter a helicopter type designator, e.g. S76.  However, in the "Aircraft Type" field, neither helicopter nor rotorcraft are in the list.  I typed it in manually but it was rejected.

Can that be added during a future revision?

Thanks.

Hello,

The Aircraft Type field is used for determining the type of flight profile and fuel burns for various aircraft. All of this happens within the Jeppesen flight planing engine that the AOPA Flight Planner is built on top of. The Jeppesen engine does not currently have these type of profiles for helicopters. We have asked Jeppesen to look into adding them but we do not have a timeline for when/if this could be included in their engine.
