Low Altitude OROCA

It would be nice to show the OROCA on the Low Altitude IFR charts. With so many "Direct To" clearances today it would be nice to see these on the Flight Planner.

Hello,

Grid MORAs are available on the low route charts (IFR) in the flight planner. These are turned on by enabling the LAT/LONG Grid from the Map Components Overlays. These are available on both VFR and IFR themes. Grid MORAs are the Jeppesen equivalent of the FAA OROCA altitudes whereas they provide obstacle and terrain clearance within each quadrant.

Thanks for the info Eric. Okay, I did have that enabled but happened to be zoomed in on a quadrangle that did not show the MORA. I pulled out an FAA chart of this same area and it shows Grid MORAs in each quadrangle unlike the planner which shows them on the border of a quadrangle or some not at all.

Am I missing something?

The text on the charts in the flight planner is dynamic. The information is not always displayed in the same location, or at all, based on zoom level. You might be at a zoom level where not all the information is being shown or, the Grid MORA value has moved to another part of the grid to accommodate additional detail on the charts. As zoom level increases, more information is displayed on the charts and sometimes text and other information will move so there is room and to avoid overlapping.

Try zooming in a little bit more and see if you are able to see the MORA values. You might have to scroll to one side or another a little bit to see them.
