entering coordinates

Eric B 4 years ago updated by Eric.Rush (Project Lead) 4 years ago 1

I can't seem to be able to enter coordinates in ANY format in flight planner under 'routes'. Even if I get the coordinates FROM flight planner of an airport already entered in, then try to enter that waypoint under 'routes' of a new flight plan it always says it doesn't recognize that waypoint. I have a trip with multiple coordinates I'd like to enter in, please help!

To use LAT/LON coordinates in the flight planner, you need to create a User Defined Waypoint for each point you want to create. These are saved to a private list so you can use them again in the future without needing to re-create them each time. To access the User Waypoint creation window, Right Click on the chart in the approximate area you want to create the custom waypoint. Select "Create user waypoint here" from the options. A window will open allowing you to provide a custom name and, modify the LAT/LON coordinates if you need to. The LAT/LON fields will automatically detect any of the 4 different formats that coordinates can be displayed in so you can enter in whatever format you favor. Click the Save button and the waypoint will be created on the chart and added to your route.
