A large airport that doesn't exist is appearing between Fox Field, Lancaster CA and Edwards AFB, Ca

We have more information about these runways:


The runways shown on the Jeppesen charts are part of Edwards AFB. Runways 11/29 and 02/20 make up the Rosamond Dry Lakebed runway complex. The runways were added to the Jeppesen Navdata in cycle 1610 (effective 15 Sep 2016) at the request of the USAF, which is why they are displayed in our electronic enroute charting applications.


We have asked Jeppesen to associate additional data with these runways so users of our flight planner can get info about them (by right clicking) and see what they are.


In checking Google Maps, it appears that there are runways located in that area. Probably part of Edwards AFB but likely not an airport for public use. We are still investigating.
