Would like to have the ability to select a recently assigned route when creating an IFR flight. Also having a list of the preferred routes from the AFD would be a big help too.
Having recently assigned routes is planned. Expecting to have this feature implemented this summer.
Absolutely. Also, how about being able to enter a route using waypoints and airways like all of the EFB apps do?
This is fairly useless for planning a real-life IFR flight. The shortest airway route which is planned is very rarely the actual route that you will get.
Really looking forward to this feature being added to this already great app!
How about being able to enter a route manually with airways, eg JFK V16 ENO V268 ...?
Rather than recently planned routes (say the past few weeks), how about previously assigned routes (say the past couple of years)? When flying to/from small airports the chances that someone else flew between them in the last few weeks is almost zero. So a recently planned route has limited utility when either the departure or destination airports are small (because routes never show up). However if that time frame goes back a few years, there is a good chance that there was a flight between almost any two airports (and a previously approved route is exists). I have found that except in cases where major airspace changes have been made, ATC preferred routings have been the same for years and even an old approved route is likely to be predictive of what will be approved today. Routings on FltPlan.com are good examples of how I think this should be done with previously approved routings going back a couple of years. Lockheed Martin's 1800WXBrief.com is the opposite where previous (recent) routings are rarely available because the time frame is too short unless the airports are large enough to experience frequent flights between them.

-- Any updates on the enhancement requests for (a) Recently assigned routes / preferred routes or (b) routes entered manually by users?
Both (a) and (b) have been industry-standards ... for quite some time: skyvector, Garmin Pilot, 1800wxBrief.com, etc.
Two years later and still not added,
... and no response for over a year.
